Scribedriver Bolt Action Pen

The scribedriver itself is wonderful and understanding that the pen cartridge is neither designed nor made by lttstore or creator warehouse does make this review more favorable. The bolt action is wonderfully smooth, only having occasionally started to catch in the past year and a half of heavy use. It’s so smooth that it can be activated by flicking the pen, without touching the mechanism which is a nice fidget when writing. The softer knurling is in fact perfect for long writing sessions, and it has helped with cramping in my wrist and fingers. It’s a real shame then that the pen cartridge is unable to write for a long time and will almost appear to run out of ink. I originally thought it had, however the issue started within just a few months of when I got the pen and has continued, resolving itself with rest. That would be fine for occasional note taking or shorter tasks, however when writing pages at a time a pen that can barely make it half a page before getting tired is quite disappointing. The most difficult part is that a test scratch immediately after the issue presents will not exhibit the same behavior while letters and characters will be intermittent at best. I have yet to try another cartridge, and would like to at some point, however I’ve been putting it off because they aren’t inexpensive and I am always hoping the issue might just be from my somewhat lax care (I don’t always keep the pen tip down when storing and occasionally leave it exposed for extended periods of time). The point being that everything that was controlled by lttstore/creator warehouse is wonderful, and 4 stars at least while the pen itself is unfortunately not and because I bought a pen that means I cannot review this as a perfect or even stellar product.

Love it! Satisfying click mechanism and it uses standard easy to replace ink cartridges. Perfect for everyday use.

I ordered the Black pen once it was back in stock, received an order confirmation and waited… about a month later I got a shipping notification and was excited. The pen arrived a few days later and to my surprise I received a silver pen. I contacted support and was pretty much told. It’s discontinued, too bad. So yea. 1 star for poor product management, and 1 star for customer service…

The scribedriver is really well made and is easy to use. The bolt-action slides smoothly and doesn't hitch. However, the pen itself writes very inconsistenty. I'm unsure if it's a single issue with the cartridge of ink I received or if this is a consistent issue with the brand used inside the scribedriver. Certain directions of writing do not produce ink making it unusable for note-taking. The product itself is really well made and I want to give it 5 stars. I cannot, however, if the point of the pen is to write and it cannot do that without a change in ink cartridge meaning possibly more money to make it function. If this is a more systemic issue with the ink than just my unit, I would lower the score to 3 star but I believe it is just an isolated issue that can be corrected with a different cartridge. It did not function for its intended purpose when it arrived but the quality of the scribedriver itself is extremely strong and I would recommend if you're willing to overlook the ink issue or are willing to buy a replacement cartridge at the start.
